The Good News
Luke 2:9-12
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” (NIV)
This is it!
These are the words of Christmas!
This is the reason for the season!
This is the Headline News for everyday!
Today
in the city of David
a Savior
has been born to you, he is
Christ the Lord!
Did you read the words, born to you?
God sent Jesus because he loves You!
When I read this news it gives me goose bumps. It reminds me of when one of the Digger twins said she loved me in the 7th Grade. My heart melted. I love watching middle school kids who are in love. Their whole lives are changed in an instant, even if just for a few days.
That’s the difference between God’s love for you and one of the Digger twins for me.
His love is eternal!
His love is pure!
He will not forsake me for another!
He will not abandon me to my foolishness!
This is why I love this holy season.
I am reminded of His great love for us.
News like this makes me wants to sing.
Prayer Lord God, melt my heart with the news of your love for me. Amen.
A life changing instant can happen even later in life. I had to keep my eyes open for it. But I also have to remember…”God willing…
